Email: admin@theclaylife.com about joining the studio or for Founding Member rates.

Memberships are typically paid month-to-month via Quickbooks. You have the option to also pay in 3 month blocks, 6 month blocks, or by paying for a year in advance, the Founding Members option will have 1 month free and 10% off all clay purchases!

If you want to purchase a 3-month membership in advance, you would get 5% off all clay purchases during that period. A 6-month membership would get you a 10% discount off of all clay purchases during that period. If you’re living or working somewhere in the mid-peninsula having a centrally located pottery studio will save you time commuting to San Francisco or to the South Bay leaving you with more time and money to enjoy the clay life.

Membership for everyone includes ALL firings for greenware and glaze up to an allotment of 4,000 Cubic Inches. That is approximately 50 lbs of clay per month. Work exceeding your limit is charged at the rate of .10¢ a cubic inch. Example: If a mug is 3x4x4=48 cubic inches and you threw 4048 for the month, the additional mug firing cost of 4.80 would be added to your monthly bill.

Every in-studio member has full access to the studio facilities (except being near the kilns for safety reasons or beyond the office area of the clay storage area) including wheel use as long as they have been approved to use the equipment and follow our safety standards and cleaning requirements.

Members that are paying for the home-based membership can’t use the in-studio wheels but may use the extruder and slab roller as well as the glaze room.

Membership is subject to a code of conduct. 3 month minimum.
