This 2-day teapot workshop is a wheel workshop for those who are comfortable centering and making a consistent cylinder with even walls. Ability to throw off-the-hump a bonus. What is “thowing-off-the-hump?” No worries, we can work on that too. Workshop addresses all the skills to make a functional teapot on the wheel. We will explore teapot body forms, make fitting lids, dripless spouts and various handle options that suit your aesthetic. Glazing techniques will be discussed and demonstrated on the second day. Participants should should bring basic throwing tools and lunch. Tools specific to making teapots will be provided by the artist. This workshop is best suited for those who are able to center up to 2 lbs of clay, make a uniform cylinder with ease and able to follow along with the artist. |
